One day before her 30th birthday, Kate Middleton wowed in a fabulous, floor-length lace dress to attend the red carpet with Prince William, who was in black tie, for the War Horse premiere in London's West End despite the wed weather.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were spotted joining 600 serving and ex-serving military personnel, their families and beneficiaries of military charities at the event on Sunday evening, January 8, 2012.
It is said that the royal couple made the appearance at the debut screening of the Steven Spielberg motion picture in aid of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, which recognizes the welfare of people who has been serving their country in the British Armed Forces.
William and Kate teamed with director Steven Spielberg and stars Tom Hiddleston, Emily Watson, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jeremy Irvine on the red carpet of the premiere of the movie “War Horse”. Prince William looked handsome in his tux, while his wife showed off her floor length black lace dress by Alice Temperley, one of her family’s favorite designers.
Spielberg talked about the appearance of the couple at Odeon Leicester Square in London: “It's a very prestigious honor because they represent an entirely new era in British royalty that has the entire world excited.” He also said that it was an honour for him to be there with the royals. “This is my first royal premiere for the Duke and Duchess, having done them before for the Queen and the Queen Mother,” he said.
Prince William had to carry an umbrella after it started to rain as walking alongside wife Kate Middleton outside the Odeon in Leicester Square. After the UK Premiere of “War Horse,” the royal couple attended a private reception with the cast at Buckingham Palace.
